Cardboard Plant, Zamia furfuracea
This prehistoric cycad is native to Mexico.  It is a tough plant that needs little care other then regular pruning to keep it under control.  Salt tolerant, it is a good choice on the keys and near salt spray.

Cardboard plants will grow to six feet and spread quickly so it is a good idea to remove entire leaf stalks at times.  The olive green leaves shoot up above the dwarf ixoras.
