Confederate Jasmine, Trachelospermum jasminoides

You know spring time has arrived when you smell the fragrant blooms of the vine.  The blooms last for over a month.  A unique feature of Confederate jasmine is its ability to grow in the shade as well as full sun.  It is popular around mailboxes.

Confederate jasmine can grow up trees like the cabbage palm here.  It can grow up tall trees reaching up to forty feet high.

Confederate jasmine flowers emit a sweet fragrance in the spring.
