Coontie, Zamia pumila
There are no light requirements for the Florida native.  Coontie is happy in full sun or dense shade.  For that matter there are almost no requirements.  They rarely need water and grow in all soil types.
Coontie do well in shady regions.  The cycad's structure allows debris filter through the plant and be consumed.
