Pygmy Date Palm, Phoenix roebellenii
A triple-headed pygmy date palm is an unparalleled accent plant.  Feathery fronds gracefully sway and whisper in a breeze.  Colorful crotons act as a groundcover in this arrangement.

Lower fronds are often left intact with pygmy dates to create a shielding effect.  Seed heads may be pruned out by reaching in towards the palm bud and pulling away for a clean cut.  Be careful! The fronds are armored with sharp, unforgiving thorns.
Two pygmy date palms are spaced around this pool enclosure providing both privacy and beauty.
